Historied engineering firm Cosworth has partnered with automotive culture and lifestyle brand Caffeine&Machine for an exclusive line of apparel to coincide with the company’s 65th anniversary year.
The collaboration with Caffeine&Machine – the first of the brand’s Cult of Machine clothing collection – marks a prime opportunity to reflect and celebrate on over six decades of Cosworth success in motorsport and automotive.
The Cult of Machine x Cosworth collection will officially launch at the ‘Powered by Cosworth’ celebration event at Caffeine&Machine’s Warwickshire venue, The Hill, on 5th September 2023. As well as the debut of the brand-new collection, an array of Cosworth-powered machinery from the company’s 65 years will be present at the unique venue.
The principal design feature of the Cult of Machine x Cosworth collection is a CAD blueprint of the DFV V8, one of the most successful and recognisable motorsport engines of all time. The DFV clocked up 155 Formula One victories, 12 Formula One Drivers’ Championships, two overall triumphs at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and, in turbocharged DFX form, 10 Indianapolis 500 wins.
The collaboration will mark the start of Cosworth’s 65th anniversary celebrations, a milestone that will be commemorated throughout September. Cosworth’s extensive history began in 1958, when founders Mike Costin and Keith Duckworth established the company in a north London garage before relocating to Northampton in 1964, where the headquarters of Cosworth and powertrain division still remain.
Today, Cosworth has evolved its propulsion offering predominantly into the hypercar and supercar markets. The traditional ICE business has been broadened introducing new sustainable propulsion solutions that include e-fuels and hydrogen. We have also recently launched our dedicated battery facility at Silverstone and our Cambridge facility continues to develop data and control systems for a similarly broad, automotive and motorsport customer base.
Bruce Wood, Managing Director of Cosworth’s propulsion division, said: “We are very excited to reveal our partnership with Caffeine&Machine as we begin to celebrate 65 years of Cosworth. Caffeine&Machine has built an incredible community over the past five years, and we know there are many Cosworth enthusiasts among them. ‘Powered by Cosworth’ gives us a rare opportunity to connect, celebrate, and reflect on the achievements of our company together. We are truly honoured to be the first collaboration of Caffeine&Machine’s Cult of Machine clothing line and appreciate the support from our licensing agency Faster Brands for assisting us in brokering this partnership. We hope Cosworth enthusiasts – old and new – enjoy the high-quality products on offer and the night celebrating our illustrious history.”
Phil McGovern, Caffeine&Machine founder and director, said: “I’m incredibly proud that we have the opportunity to launch our Cult of Machine brand with a collaboration with a brilliant and historic name like Cosworth. The DFV engine is one of the great British engineering success stories, and we’re really excited to have it as the centrepiece of this new collection.”
‘Powered by Cosworth’ will be taking place on 5 September 2023 at Caffeine&Machine: The Hill, Warwickshire.
